What is the Flu
Influenza or the ‘flu’ is a highly contagious respiratory illness by the influenza virus that attacks the human body, spreading through the upper or lower respiratory tract. While a cold might seem similar, the flu is often more severe, occurs abruptly out of nowhere and leads to life-threatening illnesses. Symptoms of the flu include running nose, fevers, coughs, headaches, fatigue and weakness.Certain demographics of people may be deemed more high risk than other individuals - such as adults over 65 years old, pregnant women, young children and those with underlying chronic illnesses like cancer, asthma, diabetes, and heart disease.
How the Flu Spreads
The flu spreads through droplets when an infected person sneezes, coughs or talks. These droplets may land on another individual or be spread through touching of surfaces or objects, which are then transmitted to another person.Individuals are highly contagious within the first three days of being ill and may unwittingly pass the virus on to other people as some may show no symptoms or continue to infect others before and after their illness.
In defence, our bodies produce antibodies that attack these foreign cells such as the influenza virus that may enter our body, but the best line of defence may be to focus on prevention of getting the flu instead.
Prevention of the Flu
There are several ways to prevent yourself from getting the flu-- these are mostly healthy, everyday habits that are designed to boost your immunity and stop you from getting sick in the first place.Healthy habits include:

Known as the king of alkaline foods, our Plum Balls are extracted from a concentrated juice of Japanese Ume that are boiled to form a thick syrup. Plum contains picric acid which helps the liver to neutralize toxins effectively and boosts immunity. Plum is said to increase the body’s natural healing power and improves resistance to common viral infections such as colds, coughs, and sore throats.
How To Use: Take 10 to 15 balls or more daily after meals for adults. Easy to swallow, suck or chew.
Our Propolis balls are made from bee pollen -- a natural antibiotic and antibacterial agent. It is rich in flavone, enzymes, trace elements, organic/amino acids, polysaccharides and vitamins and increases the body’s immunity to colds, flus, and coughs.
How to Use: Take 8 to 10 balls or more daily before meals.
Garlic is nature’s super detoxifier--it contains sulphur substances which have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, and effectively neutralizes poison from food, blood and water in our bodies. Our Garlic Balls are odourless and contain honey, koji, ginseng and garlic. We use koji, to retain vitamins and nutritional values, unlike raw or cooked garlic.

Squalene comes from shark liver oil, which contains a chemical formula C30H50, an unsaturated hydrocarbon oil, that is capable of re-supplying the deep sea shark’s cells with much-needed oxygen. Recent research shows Squalene has antioxidant properties which actively absorb and transmit molecular oxygen to nourish the entire human body. Free radicals which may otherwise be formed may cause malfunction of the cells and organs, with possible results of chronic illnesses and antioxidants guard against this. The effect of Squalene may help to strengthen our body’s immunity against tumour through the activation of the white blood cells (T & B lymphocytes and macrophages).
How To Use: Take one pearl, 2 to 3 times daily before meals or sleep.
Taking Vitamin C increases antioxidant activity at the cellular level, so as to reduce the amount of oxidation caused by free radicals before they damage the RNA and DNA. Vitality C has a neutral pH and is readily absorbed into the bloodstream, bypassing the stomach and not causing upset.
How To Use: Take 1 scoop (6.5 grams) one to four times daily, dissolved with water or juice.
