Ulam Raja (Organically Grown)
Its name in Malay is call King of the Salad. The Malays eat them raw with some chili to give it more kick. This highly nutritious leaves have lots of chlorophyll, much like eating wheat grass but tastes better. Leaves taste like a mix of lemon and mango and reminds the palette of rocket/arugala flavour. Has protein, carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins (1, B1, B2, Niacin, and C) and minerals (calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, potassium, magnesium, copper, and zinc). Ulam raja has been found to be great for lowering blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes patients. It is also anti-inflammatory and encourages metabolic activities.
Leaves can be mixed with shrimp paste, raw onions, pounded chili, and lime juice to make dip.
OR it can be added into any salad mix to add flavor.
OR you can make ulam raja omelette.
