Air purifiers filter out harmful toxins to cleanse the air that we breathe. Numerous invisible particles like dust, pollen, smoke and odours linger in the air and we unknowingly breathe this in throughout our day. In fact, according to the EPA, the level of indoor air pollutants may be 2 to 5 times more than outdoor levels and may even exceed 100 times more on occasion.
Health issues may arise from such poor indoor air quality, such as irritation to the eyes, nose and throat, asthma symptoms, and even respiratory diseases in the longer term. Indoor air pollutants may come from different sources, like the following:
Building materials and furnishings
Household products for cleaning and maintenance
Using a high-quality air purifier can help to filter out these particles and substances that are unhealthy for us.
How Air Purifiers Work
Air purifiers consist of a filter or multiple filters along with a fan that sucks air into the purifier. The air passes through the filter which captures particles and releases clean air back into the environment. Most filters are made of fibre, paper and mesh, which need regular maintenance and replacement to keep them working.
Other air purifiers use ionizers to attract the particles and combine with them to become dust that settles on the floor to be cleaned up later. The ionizer creates negative ions to attract the positively charged allergens and form dense dust particles.
Air purifiers can be effective at removing all these allergens like pet dander, mould, pollen, smoke and dust out of the air and improving the air quality in your home.
Reltec Air Ioniser and Cleaner isequipped with activated carbon, Binchotan charcoal and a high-performance dust filter, together with an ion-exchange converter in the unit. The ioniser uses the first-ever patented principle of an ion-exchange converter to produce negative cluster ions (NCl), which bind to the positively-charged ions more effectively. It can produce up to 2 million NCl per cubic centimetre. It is also effective in an indoor space that is 5 meters in height and length, with at least 15,000 to 20,000 NCl, while other models may only achieve up to 2 meters with much lesser ions.
The Reltec Air Ioniser and Cleaner reduces and eliminates radiation generated by electronic and electrical appliances, and eradicates toxic chemicals that are produced by air pollution, UV rays and electrostatic charges. The ioniser may help to produce a calming and relaxing effect, and improve alertness, blood and lymphatic circulation, sleep and energy, boost immunity, relieve allergies, eczema and sinus problems.
Okamizu Car Air Purifier features a simple plug and plays portable air purifier for your car. It effectively kills germs and removes odour, smoke, and chemicals using ozone. Ozone is a trioxygen molecule that binds with pollutants like odour and smoke to destroy them. Ozone has the ability to cleanse and deodorise indoor areas quickly. The air purifier is also manufactured within the ozone safety limits of 0.03ppm (turn off after 5-10 min use each time and circulate air within the car) to ensure that excessive amounts of ozone is not produced for a healthy indoor air environment.
Kishu Binchotan Charcoal is an active carbon made from tree branches. Binchotan charcoal is extremely porous, allowing it to absorb impurities and unwanted tastes and odours from water such as chlorine, to soften and add minerals to water and even purify the air.
Kishu Binchotan Kishu charcoal is made from Japanese Holm oak, which grows on the forested hills of Kii peninsula in Japan and has the highest content of carbon in any charcoal at 98%. It can be used to purify drinking water, indoor air and keep out excess moisture in cupboards and shelves. Binchotan charcoal is believed to create negative ions which purify the surrounding air and balance ions for a more calming and less stressful setting.
Filter Serumi and Bark Filter Serumi are used to eliminating odours and particles in the surrounding air. Used as replacement filters for the Reltec Air Ioniser and Cleaner, the high-performance dust filter should be changed at least once every week and the charcoal bag/bark filter once every four months.
