Vinegar comes from the word “vin aigre” meaning sour wine. It is often made through a two-step fermentation process, where alcohol is made from a grain or fruit and then oxidized. There are several types of vinegar from around the world, all with different tastes and aromas to enhance any dish. Furthermore, vinegar also contains nutritional benefits that can improve our health.
Our Nature’s Glory vinegars are made using organic ingredients where possible, and also are not over-processed, heated or over-filtered to retain maximum nutrients.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a liquid produced during the fermentation of apple cider. During fermentation, the sugar in apples is broken down by yeast and/or bacteria added to the cider, which then turns it into alcohol and then into vinegar. The key component in apple cider vinegar is acetic acid.
Apple cider vinegar is known as a household remedy to relieve insect bites and scratches, control blood sugar, get rid of dandruff, freshen hair when washing, relieve sunburn, prevent sore throats, and fight bacteria and odour for the feet and armpits.
Nature's Glory organic apple cider vinegar is made from New Zealand heritage apples with intense flavours and nutrients compared with other apples. They are slowly matured in oak barrels for at least 12 -14 months so that the culture and enzymes are formed naturally.
For the Apple Cider Vinegar with Honey, honeydew honey is used as a natural prebiotic for the mother culture giving the apple cider a darker amber colour.
Brown rice vinegar
Nature’s Glory brown rice vinegar is brewed from brown rice and koji at the base of a secluded mountain range. Unlike other vinegars, Nature’s Glory brown rice vinegar has a milder taste with harmless acid content and does not contain food additives. The level of organic and amino acids is also higher in brown rice vinegar than other types of vinegar.
Brown rice vinegar has been known to help with metabolism and a healthy blood condition and prevent fatigue, atherosclerosis and heart issues. Some people drink brown rice vinegar to maintain their health, and it is especially effective for people with a "yang" constitution.
